What you don't know about vegetables

I will be sharing with us about couple of things we need to know about vegetables and my funny experience...

Growing up,i didn't know tomatoes were part of vegetables until I was out of secondary school πŸ˜‚ 😜lol...so I will share a quick list of the common vegetables we know and some you are yet you know about...

We have bell peppers,cabbage ,green onions,okra,pumpkin e.t.c ..and all of them have nutritional values...There are also many questions a lot of people of asked and am sure yours should be part of it😊😊

1.Does soaking vegetables in water reduce the nutritional value?

Answer:yes,if soaked for a very long time in water.

2.Does left over foods reduced nutrients?

Answer:no,if kept in the refrigerator for three to four days.yes,if kept out for a long period,it loses nutrients and leads to food poisoning.

3.Does vegetables lose nutrients when cooked?

Answer:hmm mm😊...vegetables can lose nutrients when cooked for a longer period, "that's why its advisable to put vegetables as the last ingredients when cooking" my dad would say. Its better to grill,roast or better still stir fry than boiling because its breaks down the thick cell walls of many plants...
